OceanDepth is a map we are building for freedivers: seabed depth, water temperature and current at the depth you dive to, waves, and water clarity from satellites, for Okinawa and Izu. It is early and changes every week, so expect rough edges.
What you see comes from global ocean models (about 8 km resolution) and satellite imagery (about 4 km). Near-shore depths are estimates, not measurements. Conditions at a specific dive site can differ a lot.
Never use this map as your only basis for a dive decision. Check the local dive shop’s report of the day, the weather forecast and your own eyes at the water. We take no responsibility for decisions made with it.
Pick a layer: temperature, current, wave height or clarity. Temperature and current can be shown at the depth you choose.
Tap anywhere on the sea to see depth, the temperature profile, waves and clarity at that point.
Drag the time slider to look ahead a few days. Times are shown in Japan time.
Seabed: GEBCO 2026. Temperature, current, waves and clarity: Copernicus Marine Service. Both are free and open datasets; we only add the diver’s view of them.
